44 Stanley Welcomes #VinylSundays
The Vinyl Fair took place recently in Jozi and Gauteng Lifestyle has great news for the music enthusiasts out there with the return of #VinylSundays, check it out…
Johannesburg’s budding hotspot 44 Stanley incorporated a series of industrial 1930’s buildings and turned them into the city’s hottest venue with a collection of speciality health and beauty, food and fashion stores and showrooms. Now you can explore the courtyards and take in the breath-taking architecture and experience a refreshing mix of quintessential Johannesburg. The Vinyl Fair is a perfect addition and it will now take place on the first Sunday of every month beginning on the 6th of November exclusive to 44 Stanley.
Earlier this month saw vinyl fans and music enthusiasts descended upon Stanley Beer Yard to get their monthly vinyl fix. Guests to the market also enjoyed a day of music, craft beer and delicious food.
#VinylSundays are known for being visited by a string of local and international musicians, celebs and music lovers and this month was no different. The October edition of the Vinyl Fair market played host to Henry Rollins from the Black Flag / Rollins Band as well as Samiyam from Stones Throw Records and Natureboy Flako.
Local celebs included the likes of SA comedian John Vlismas and Idols judge Randall Abrahams. They were both spotted browsing through collectible records.
The market features 10 of JHB’s best record shops and dealers from classic jazz titles to the much-loved Rodriguez and Dire Straits and definitely offers something for everyone.
When asked about the move to the new venue, organiser Bret Dugmore of Mr Vinyl said “we’re really happy to move to the Stanley Beer Yard. Considering that the venue already does vinyl evenings on Thursday and Fridays, it just made sense to us. It really is a beautiful, unique spot and judging by the turnout and fun being had today, it’s been good for us”.
The Stanley Beer Yard is located at 44 Stanley Avenue in Milpark, just adjacent to the Garden Court Milpark. #VinylSundays are all set to return on the 6th November and take place on the first Sunday of every month thereafter.
