Global Sneaker Brand, BKLYN Is Launching In SA
BKLYN is an accessible athleisure sneaker brand that plans to disrupt the industry.
Whilst the brand’s headquarters are based in Durban, SA, the brand’s ethos is that it is truly global by nature.
Jarod Grossberg (SA) and Gareth Ramsay (SWE) have build a vertical footwear brand that is of quality not quantity, and plan to sell it direct to the consumer at a value price.
The idea is to build better sneakers for a better price that ‘anyone’ can afford and offer an exclusivity similar to what you would only find in top end brands.
BKLYN takes its inspiration from the city’s that shape sneaker culture, and reinterpret on trend styles in their own handwriting to represent the brands vision of being accessible to everyone. With Gareth being based in Sweden, the brand has immediate exposure to shifting sneaker trends, which Jarod who is based in SA, refines for mass appeal.
The company only releases 1 style over 2 colors for mens and ladies quarterly. These 4 styles are limited edition and are not to be repeated.
The official launch of BKLYN is on the 17th August 2017 in Maboneng, Johannesburg, which will be followed by a pop up store at Revolution House, that will be open to the public from the Friday to the Sunday.
