All in the name of growth.
It is good to always question what is happening into your life whether good or bad as to know which step to take in dealing with the problem or celebrating the victory, but most importantly is to embrace what life puts on the table.
More often than not, we are quick to have thousand questions when things does not go as planned or unfavourable to you because it hurts; there is no easy way out, it is uncomfortable and you are not willing to create a room for adjustment. The moment you allow negative questions to take over and cloud your mind such as the “Why me?” “Why now?” and you start feeling sorry for yourself, that is good as accepting defeat at an early stage and conforming that you are weak.
Everyone might have their own definition of what growth means to them however the factors are the same and one that has caught my attention is that growth it is uncomfortable. Remember for growth to take place, there are different transitions one goes through, there is pain; failure, suffer and you must have strength to withstand the even strongest winds that they can blow you back to stage one and after all you must be able to pick yourself up and give it another try and maybe with a different strategy this time.
As unfair as it may sound, for some kids they get to experience phases of growth from being deprived of their childhood phase and they had to learn to look after their little ones and also fend for themselves at the same time. Assume responsibility of being a guardian as young as they are because some lost their parents at a very young age; some parents are very sick to a point that they can’t do anything for themselves but there are those who are just not bothered as to what happens on their child’s life.
Growth it is about discovering new things that would lead you to greener pastures. Sometimes you need to allow yourself to unlearn certain things in your life that does not add value anymore or not aligned to your values as to create room for fresh, new ideas to cultivate and pave your way. Half of wisdom of learning is to unlearn what no longer serves you and learn new things you thought you knew before.
When you are rooted and know where you want to be, nothing can set you off to your final destination. Take a look at a rooted plant planted at a fertile soil and placed at its favourable weather condition, you might cut off the stem and apply concrete on the surface area. But one thing for sure, it will fight to find its way and one day it will break through and resurface through that hard surface and start blooming again. That is a perfect epitome of growth, hard times are bound to be there yet you need to stick to your initial plan or make readjustment to survive and be ready for the next trial. Growth is a never ending process; the higher you go, the colder it becomes.
