Boneni Magubane Talks New Album ‘Anginesabi’.
Makandi superstar Boneni attained success on her own terms. Despite the weighty last name she carries legacy of her husband, producer and founder of Imithente and Imbabazane Simosakhe Mthalane. Boneni has imprinted an indelible lane for herself in music.

Her diversity is incredible. She can sing even in Shona, she gave birth to many talented maskandi artist such as Ama-Ak47,Fihliskhwele, Amankomose, Abafana bakaGodlwayo (Zimbambwean trio) and Ama-88.
GLM: Who is Boneni?
Boneni: Fikile Magubane also known as Boneni is a vibrant and versatile talented young lady, she is a songwriter, choreographer, vocal coach, music arranger, a great live performer on stage and a credible Producer.
GLM:How long have you been a singer? And when did you get started?
Boneni: My first album was released in 2005 with Bula music, titled Isikweletu asiboli which was followed by Qoma nkosazane, Imiyalo yami with the hit song Izigi, Ubani othi pe!
The album was released two months before my husband – producer and founder of Imithente and Imbabazane Simosakhe Mthalane passed on, in 2010, after the period of a year of mourning, I decided to go back to the studio and I released an album titled Amathemba.
GLM:Tell us about your current album and who did you work with
Boneni: Anginesabi was released in June,recorded at Takk studios, Engineered by Evan Smith, and Mastered by Jan Smith.
GLM: Who is your favourite Maskandi female singer
Boneni: Mam Busi Mhlongo is and always will be my favourite maskandi female artist
GLM: Are you where you always wanted to be ?
Boneni: Yes,although I still want to grow in the industry
