Granada Square helping Umhlanga to be “green & clean”!

With so much litter being disposed of and causing harm to wildlife, marine life and in turn, our own human lives, it is time to be proactive and start correcting our bad littering habits.
Earlier in the week, the Property Manager from Granada Square, Elisabeth Pretorius proudly handed over a donation cheque of R5750 towards cleaning up the local environment and specifically helping to make Umhlanga Rocks a cleaner place for locals and visitors. She also added the importance of supporting community business initiatives such as the Umhlanga UIP and knowing that Granada Square was able to have played a small role in providing assistance.
With the donation received from Granada Square, the Umhlanga UIP will use the funds to pay for the staff needed as well as purchasing equipment such as bags, gloves, etc for the volunteers, all of which are needed for a successful clean-up.
Dewet Geldenhuys, the Precinct Manager for the Umhlanga Urban Improvement Precinct (UIP) added, “As with many projects it is difficult to action work without compensation, and the UIP are most grateful for the support from organisations such as Granada Square and volunteers supporting an initiative such as this”!
