The Lover, caregiver, eternal empathy.
These are some of the things I imagine when I think of what a mother signifies, what she stands for.
On this special day we celebrate this love shared, we acknowledge the strength of a Mother and I especially, after recently becoming a mother, feel these beings should be saluted daily for the sacrificial way in which they gracefully carry life and their children.
It’s no wonder the term ‘Mother nature’ exists, it speaks of the mother-like love we receive from nature.
She provides us with water, food, oxygen, gorgeous scenery and Love by providing us with a home to thrive in.
Nature teaches us Patience; a mother awaiting her baby’s arrival after months of waiting.
Nature teaches us Acceptance; coming to accept one’s role as a mother and the sacrifices that come with it.
Nature teaches us living in the moment; being Present as a Mother as this is what allows love to be felt and experienced between Mother and child.
Nature teaches us to be ourselves; to play our specific roles in this world we find ourselves in, we are reminded that we are all unique and serve uniquely, just as every Mother is unique having differing roles to play, no Mother is alike.
This is personally the first mothers day that I will celebrate as a mother myself.
I look forward to learning the ropes of motherhood and all its intricacies.
What I do know so far is how much room there is in a mother’s heart for her children and for the children of the world alike, her duty is one bestowed by the gods allowing her the strength to be a Woman of unconditional Love.
